ugh

Virgin has just played that "I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker" song AGAIN. She's got a great voice but the song is irritating...

My parents got a new dog. It's a cockapoo. I yelled at my mother for not getting a real dog but she said she can't deal with the shedding any more. They've named him Ziggy Stardust (yes, my parents are insane, we know this). Mom promised it's not a mini yap-yap like Bailey. She also said she made sure it would be good with kids (which will be important over the next 15 years!) One of the reasons I love goldens so much is that they're fab with kids. (And yes, I plan on getting one or two of my own if we ever manage to buy a house!)

Abby is sick :( She must have eaten something that disagreed with her because she spent all night throwing up. I get to see her Friday though :) Unfortunately, Mom said one of her lumps (which are supposed to be lipomas) is huge, and she really needs to go to the vet. I hope she's OK... she is 13 which is old for a goldie :(

mmm, soup!

It's icky and wet today, and I'm making a big pot of soup. I got my 11L pot out of storage yesterday because I was sick of trying to do it in my 5L one--it was always to the top, and the veg wouldn't quite cook properly.

It smells great and I've got knaidlach going too. Still had schmaltz left from Pesach. I know schmaltz is out of fashion these days (saturated fat, yada yada yada) but it makes knaidlach taste soooo good. (especially since i render it with onion. also great for potatoes.)

Of course, now I've suddenly got an attack of nausea.. :( No saltines damn it!
