Anyone know anywhere in London that has some in? Apparently British ones are kosher but American ones aren't, and someone's asked me if I can find any...

I think the bus companies weren't being very careful about their destinations today. The 125 (Finchley Central - Winchmore Hill Station Road) claimed to be terminating at Warren Street, and I saw another bus (forget which number) claiming to terminate at South Mimms. There are no buses from North Finchley that go anywhere near South Mimms (OK, there's one school-route one that goes through Potters Bar).

(Hmm, OK, 84 is St Albans - New Barnet.)

I also saw a W9 bus. Which is, apparently, Southgate - Chase Farm Hospital.

I am turning into a bus geek, to go with being a tube geek. Nooo! We won't get into post codes...

(Although londonbusroutes.net is fascinating. I love notes like "route liable to withdrawal in evenings because of vandalism" and "liable to diversion after 18:00 in the event of antisocial behaviour".)

Speaking of buses, will TfL change the bus maps now that the Swan & Pyramids is no longer there? (The mark of London pub longevity: becoming an official bus stop.)

From the Board of Deputies website:
"The Board of Deputies of British Jews expresses its concern over the feature in the Times T2 supplement on 19 April 2006 and similar articles in other national newspapers the following day. As far as The Board is aware Philip Sharp has no recognised rabbinical training or ordination, and therefore no right to be called rabbi. His lifestyle, with multiple female partners, is inconsistent with contemporary Jewish custom and practice.

The British Jewish Community does not regard messianic groups, such as Jews for Jesus, and Sharp’s Shema Israel congregation as Jewish. They play no part in organised Jewish life in this country.

Readers of the various articles should not mistakenly believe that the practices and lifestyle described are part of the Jewish religion."

(Henry Grunwald, president of the BOD, wrote a letter to today's Independent complaining about the Extra cover image.)
