Bored, boring

I have a headache and a toothache. :(

Meanwhile, we're being too boring for words. It's Saturday night and we're home watching TV. Neil insisted on watching Alien vs. Predator on Sky Movies, then we watched a few episodes of The Simpsons on DVD.

I did cook a real dinner tonight, though (roast chicken, potatoes, gravy, Yorkshire pudding, cabbage for me, peas for Neil). We're both now avoiding the giant pile of dishes... ;)

We are being slightly African themed today: I have bought a Souad Massi album off iTunes (was impressed to see her on there, and on the US site too); and I've been reading The State of Africa which is a nice overview of post-1945 Africa.

One quibble with iTunes: they have the song titles for this album in English, rather than the original Arabic and French. Her older albums have the Arabic titles.

(hmph. Missed her at the Barbican in February. I was in the states that week anyway, though... The link above, by the way, has sound clips from the latest album. The BBC's World Music site has the full version of "Ilham" ("Inspiration") - she won Best Artist at the World Music awards.)
