I need new nightshirts, rather badly. So I went to Macy's, where I'd previously bought some. I even went to the Herald Square branch.

There was NOTHING above a size XL that was not either horrendously frumpy nor covered in a cutesy pattern (e.g. miniature frogs). Not even anything decent and plain. I'm going to have to go the mail-order route :-( Lands End do nice plain cotton ones, and Wintersilks have GORGEOUS silk pj's that I've eyed previously and rejected as "too expensive" (but they have some on sale for $50... shame international shipping is $28. I'll have to have it sent home, then repacked and posted so I don't get smacked with enormous import duty).

I'm really annoyed. All I want are nice, comfy cotton nightshirts/pj's. nothing designed for a 65 year old. It's not as if I even want something fancy or special (because, dontcha know, all fat women are unmarried frumps: why would we want pretty lingerie or sleepwear?)

I can surf for free at JFK - Terminal 4 is relatively small and I can pick up wireless signals from the El Al and Swiss lounges ;-) At Heathrow you have to pay £5 for an hour at the T-Mobile HotSpot.

It's great because T4 is so boring--I'd actually want to be able to use the Virgin Clubhouse here. At Heathrow I don't mind because there's loads of restaurants and shopping. Terminal 4 JFK is strictly fast food, a few shops and concrete benches. (I'm serious, they're concrete. I'm sitting in front of the food court, which at least has tables and chairs.)

In case I haven't mentioned it recently, my family's insane and I'm a bookaholic (I just picked another one up in the newsstand/bookshop). We had a lovely steak dinner though and my grandma was very sorry to see us leave. I felt bad not spending more time with her... but next trip we'll be staying with her for a few days to make use of the beach. :-)
