I got my hair done today. It looks fantastic. I'm now a redhead (really red): here's a picture:

(this was taken in my parents' kitchen a few hours later, and I'm a bit windblown: the cut looked better than that. Also, it makes the red look slightly unnatural. Not the greatest, really, but you get an idea.)
I have a before picture but it looks terrible. Suffice it to say I had dark brown roots and the rest was blonde--red had washed out and only left the blonde. I got a different process this time so the result was MUCH better and won't go a nasty shade of blonde when it fades. Also, I had over 3" taken off. When I wash my hair and do it curly it will really show. If I could afford to get it done like this every time, I SO would...
Had giant Italian dinner with my parents and grandma. On the way home, a 10 minute argument ensued over the relative heights of various family members. I ended it by pointing out that no one in my family is 100% honest about their height and tends to exaggerate it by about 2". (No way in hell has my great-aunt ever been 5'4". Maybe in very high heels. And my cousin Amy is closer to 5'1" than 5'4".)
(My sister and I get our height from my dad's family. My mother's side are all short.)
