It snowed this morning. This meant that traffic was completely snarled. It took me 1h15 to get from Woodside Park to Hendon. Regents Park Road is usually bad in the morning, but Hendon Lane was a mess too.

So I got there, and we had electric problems--half the building was without lights! And all the volunteers were late, and there weren't enough of us for 10 kids. Still, good fun, I got baby cuddles :-) I'm getting a little more confident with them; the women who've had kids of their own tend to be more ready to try more physical play, whereas I'm more afraid of being too aggressive.

Came home, zonked, missed figure skating :/ will watch repeat tomorrow morning hopefully.

Henceforth, I declare the following edicts:

1) People must have done something in order to be famous. Winning a reality TV show is not something. Manufactured pop acts must have had a hit single in the past 6 months. Being married to someone famous does not create or continue fame. Victoria Beckham is hence declared non-famous. Kerry Katona is non-famous. Guy Ritchie will soon be non-famous if he does not direct a decent picture.

I realise that this edict will result in a massive cull of celebrity gossip magazines. However, the retraining of journalists will be a small price to pay.

2) The Daily Express is now banned for trying to out-Mail the Mail.

3) Prince Charles is forbidden from speaking, writing, or otherwise making us aware of his existence. He will be forced to abdicate. It needs to be made absolutely clear that the sole remaining function of the monarchy is tourism. Americans already have a republic; we don't need to visit Britain to see another one.

I had another one which I now forget; I shall return to it if I remember.

4) "My horrible childhood" confessional autobiographies shall be banned.

Woke up at 11. Our plan was to leave at 12:30. (If we plan to leave at 12:30 we might leave by 13:00.)

The cat's hiding; I've patched my messenger bag strap together with bad sewing (it's very thick fabric!) and safety pins--let's hope it makes it through Heathrow airport as I don't want to buy a new one in T3 Duty-Free; I'm mostly packed, Neil isn't; I have to do some dishes; I'm not dressed.

It's the usual chaos...
