I now have new specs! They are lighter than my old ones, though still very thick (they'd written on my record that I'd been told to get 1.67 or higher and had refused :) ) I probably should have gotten the thinner ones but I was feeling cheap. Still, I can SEE! It's cool, I can read the controlled parking zone signs now! Although since the frames are smaller, I have to remember to look ahead and not too far up or down, or I'm looking above or below the rims. It's surprisingly difficult. I had bifocals when I was younger and I acquired the habit of looking down when I read.
(I may take photos later, after I've washed my hair.)
Annoying part: My new contact lenses are in... but I can't wear them. They're making me have another fitting. And the damn fitter is only in every other Wednesday. So I can't get my new contacts until 15th March! FFS! I can still wear my old ones I guess, just not too often. I have one spare left lens left, no right ones. The last right one got put in the day I got fitted for my glasses--I dropped the old one. :)
