It's a load of nonsense. And non-Jewish. But I've bought Neil a card and nagged him to buy me one. Which he did. AND a make-up card for last year :-)

And I'm making him his favourite chicken pie. Why spend money on pressies when you can cook? :) (OK, the pie isn't cheap; it has morel mushrooms and quite a bit of wine in it. Which is why I do it as a treat.)

I was wondering how GB managed to place so high in men's luge (OK, 16th).

Turns out that Adam Rosen is really American (he lives in New York). :) According to the JC his mum's from Essex, so he qualifies to compete for Britain.

(But he's Jewish, so it's all OK, obviously!)

Another Haruki Murakami story in this week's New Yorker. They seem to have a thing about him lately: this is the 3rd story of his they've published in the past 6-7 months.

Not that I don't enjoy the stories--I do (even though I've never read any of his novels). It's just an observation.
