Meh, HM Customs & Excise!

Just got my boots.

I was charged £9.83 VAT and £8.00 "clearance charge"!

What gets me is I've never been hit for VAT when ordering from Amazon...

And contrary to what the card said the delivery guy wouldn't take MasterCard!

I would have liked the taller ones but I didn't want to risk those without trying them on--tall boots are tricky with my calves. Also, I would've liked the ones with the turned-down tops, but it's my fault for not mentioning that, and hey, I didn't pay so I can't complain!

And I don't care if Ugg was last year's hot trend--I got them because they'll keep my (perennially cold) feet warm--just what you need in London. I've been wearing my flats the past few days and my toes have been freezing. Plus they're good flats and I don't want to wear them out doing errands :P

The cat is playing with the styrofoam peanuts my sister put in the box. (She took the boots out of their box and repacked them...)
