(found when browsing wikipedia)

John Tesh is from Garden City. Aaaargh!!

(former host of Entertainment Tonight, now a "Christian musician". Wtf?! I thought all of those came from south of the Mason-Dixon line... Maybe California fried his brain.)

(sign of a Long Islander: you actually care about other people being from there.)

I just found a website that defines "XL" (as in a fitted T-shirt) as "8-10"!!!

Even at the Gap, sizes don't run that stupidly.

(Not that I'd buy a fitted T-shirt but it's the principle of the thing. An XL should be 12-14 at least!)

I've been thinking that the Green Goddess column is barmy for a while now. Today I'm convinced. She's gone to Switzerland, and says about it:

"Yet, for some unfathomable reason, people say that the country is boring. They have obviously never experienced the joy that is a Swiss train, or witnessed the country's stunning recycling strategies."

Of course, she went to Geneva to consult a "top homeopath" and takes the Mayr clinic seriously. (Johann Hari recently had quite a funny article on going there.)

oh god, it gets worse: "My consultation with the homeopath was fascinating and I have been prescribed homeopathic medication to rid my body of vaccines. This will not take away my immunity but will definitely remove my allergies."

No, dear, what you've been given is a load of codswallop.

(Maybe she's too easy a target...nahh...she deserves all my scorn)

the BBC 10 O'Clock News says there's a suburb of Paris called "Villejuif": Jew-town!

(though I think that grammatically, it should be "villejuive": isn't "ville" feminine?)
