Bizarre.

For the first time in my life, I have managed to produce a loaf of bread that proofed perfectly, then utterly failed to rise in the oven. I don't know why the yeast conked out. It's a new packet and I didn't do anything differently from usual.

I'll have to try again later, I suppose. Meanwhile, I've got a loaf in the trash and I don't get the hot bread I was looking forward to :-(

At least my jelly (Jell-O) has solidified. Mmm, fake strawberry.
