Today I went looking for shoes for my sister's wedding. I knew what I wanted, black strappy sandals.

I'll let Neil tell his version of the tale but suffice it to say that after looking most of the day I bought gorgeous shoes... at the first store I went to! I decided to try on a pair I'd looked at earlier and rejected for some reason, and the saleswoman said they had nearly identical ones with lower heels, which she brought out for me. They were perfect. Originally I'd thought I wanted higher ones, but after trying them both on I realized the lower ones really were much more comfortable, and only marginally less sexy ;-)

Since the shoes were black, and hence wearable again, I really wanted to get nice ones. If I'd had to buy purple or something I would've bought a cheap pair of dyeables.

Poor Neil, who accompanied me throughout this (I think he was afraid to let me go alone, I was lusting after designer shoes, though I would NOT NOT NOT have spent $525 on a pair of Dolce & Gabbana high heeled sandals, nice as they were) is now flumped next to me watching Monday Night Football. He's gorging on American football. Which, by the way, I CAN'T STAND!!!
