England have won the Ashes! Yeah!

I know I'm American but I'm married to an Englishman and a huge cricket fan. And they beat Australia. We all hate Australia ;)

Neil decided to stay in the pub at lunchtime and not go back to work (he was joined by several of his workmates). I was on my way back from the butcher's when a series of text messages resulted in him telling me to come join him :) I went back home first to drop off the chicken then went into Islington. I got to the pub just as they were about to give out the awards, and joined in all the cheering as they were given out and the Ashes were lifted. Neil had had quite a few pints, and gotten a bottle of champagne as well: he was a bit drunk ;) It was fun though and the spirit in the pub was great. Everyone was magnanimous in victory too and cheered for Shane Warne when he was awarded man of the series for Australia.

Neil and I went for a curry, and then he decided to pop back into the pub and I went home. I don't think Neil will be coming down from his high too soon!
