We may have a taker for the spare desk which has been clogging up my side of the room for ages! ;) (I had made empty threats of calling Barnet council and putting it out with the rubbish, but didn't have the heart to follow through--it's not my desk.) This means I can assemble the bookcase that's meant to go on that side of the room, and hence reduce clutter in the living room. Well, reduce it slightly.

Now, if Neil would remember to drive his 2 giant bags of clothes to the recycling centre this Saturday... ;) (Or the charity shop, but I'm not sure they'll want to sort through all of it.) (It's not within walking distance, so he has to drive the stuff there.)

Also need to get pics of the textured bits on the kitchen and bathroom ceilings so I can ask if they can just be painted over or removed or what. I think the bathroom ceiling is some kind of foam tile but I have no idea about the kitchen. It extends down part of the wall too, and feels like something that's been stuck on top of the plaster.

Speaking of which, if paint has peeled off a wall and you can feel bare plaster, do you just prime and paint? That may sound like an utterly stupid question to most of you but in the States walls are usually Sheetrock, not plaster--so I haven't painted on plaster before.
