I've discovered LiveJournal tags. whee. Now I can categorize posts using something other than different user pictures.

Got annoyed at a column in yesterday's Independent where someone criticized privatized utilities cutting off water to people who didn't pay. Well, DUH! Water may be free but piping into your house costs money. It's this kind of muddled thinking that keeps me from being a real leftist. (The column was by Mark Steel and it was full of idiocy that made me want to slap him.)

Today I have errands to do. How exciting.

gadgety goodness

Today I bought a Braun Multiquick. I'd decided to buy a hand blender for occasional liquidizing--I have a full size liquidiser on my Kenwood, but it's in storage!

So I asked on a cooking board I use, and I got loads of recommendations for the Multiquick. It's not just a hand blender, it's a whole gadget set with mini and medium choppers and whisk attachment. :-) Very nifty. I'm not a huge food processor user, but they are useful--for example I just pressed a button and boom, all my garlic was in tiny little bits. :-)
