Does anyone else feel like the Independent is a little hysterical with its environment stories? It seems like every week there's a piece (often front page) about some environmental catastrophe. About 2/3 of the time they link it to climate change. When they do that they usually get critical letters from scientists.

I'm all for increasing the visibility of environmental problems, but the Indy is coming off as over the top lately.

So far today I have:

Baked some sponge cake (whisked, one 9" layer)
Gone to Sainsburys
Gotten annoyed that organic eggs are £3/dozen (they were out of regular free range large eggs... not that free range aren't trendy either, but I don't trust the major supermarkets on eggs. It's bad enough that I buy their milk because my palate has been trained to prefer homogenized.)
made custard (300ml single cream, 6 egg yolks, 75g sugar and a vanilla pod.. yummy)
Washed bath mats
Cleaned toilet
Swept bathroom floor (must still mop)
Mopped kitchen floor (shame it needs it again)
Vacuumed hall, bedroom and living room
Put some more books away (did some book reorganization last night)
Did dishes (multiple times)
Made dinner (chicken thighs stewed with tomatoes, onions, and peppers)
Combed another giant pile of fluff off the cat
Made this list.
Mood:: 'bored' bored
