We went to Gotham Bar & Grill for Carly's birthday. It was fantastic. I think I should've ordered a lighter dessert--I should've gotten the lemon souffle, which I'd been thinking of getting. I can't complain though. I love my parents :-) They'd wanted to go to Gramercy Tavern, but couldn't get a reservation. They said they'll take us when we're in town in September, since my dad's birthday is Sept 23.

Jen and Rob took me back, and I was going to get the car. The traffic was AWFUL though, they forgot they're closing the LIE from Little Neck Parkway all night for construction (imagine 15 miles of the M25 being shut). Plus there was a stalled car 2 exits before the diversion, so traffic was stopped dead even though it was 23:30! I was so exhausted I just had them take me home.

This morning I did the shopping, then I went with my parents to get some new pots. My mother's making soup, and then we're going to my sister's.

Shit. Nice. I just called Jen to see if I could go get the car--Rob loaned it to his friend. Typical. It's not that he doesn't have the right to loan it, it's his, but don't jerk me around. It's a serious pain in the ass, because I can't drive Carly's car (it's stick) and I can't drive Mom's (it's leased and she doesn't let anyone else touch it).

"This is the bread of affliction which our ancestors ate in the land of Egypt. All who are hungry--let them come and eat. All who are needy--let them come and celebrate the Passover with us. Now we are here; next year may we be in the Land of Israel. Now we are slaves; next year may we be free."

(And so on through the Four Questions, and the answer, and the Four Sons [and yes, I always do the wise son], and our oppression in Egypt, and the Ten Plagues, and 20 choruses of Dayenu, and the shankbone and matza and bitter herbs, and finally the meal, and then the afikomen and grace and Had Gadya.. and to...)
