The problem isn't that it's a poorly written book, or that such a poorly written book has sold so many copies.
It's that it's become this whole phenomenon, and people are taking it so seriously. Books devoted to it, tours, now the Catholic Church is actually bothering to condemn it. Hello, it's fiction! It says so right on the front, where it's called a novel!
Idiots.
(OK, OK... I ran out of energy, so this is a mini-rant.)
