Funnily enough, the evening was spent being as parodically American as one can be in the UK. To do this, we went to Enfield, which is home to several "retail parks" which look and feel just like American suburbia. (I should point out, however, that Enfield was chosen for its UGC cinema multiplex; the American-ness was incidental.) Dinner was TGIs (foodie in me hangs head in shame, then confesses to liking chicken wings).
We then went to see Harold and Kumar Get the Munchies (or Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, as it was originally known). It was ludicrously, wonderfully silly. I won't pretend it was great cinema, but we laughed our heads off (and we were completely sober :-P )
Afterwards, we stopped at... Krispy Kreme! I felt like doughnuts, I haven't had any since moving. I was normally a Dunkin' Donuts girl rather than Krispy Kreme, but these were goood. A little heavy on the glaze but the doughnuts themselves were really light and moist. They do a nice range of fillings too. Expensive though--90p for a glazed, 1.10 for all the others. They do a good discount for a dozen (7.95 for assorted) but that's not much help when you don't want a full dozen. Anyway, that's my blood sugar skyrocketing. :-)
Neil SAID he was going to get up early and do things, but he didn't. :) Mind you I slept quite a bit. I'm coming down with another cold. :-(
