After 8 hours in bed with my foot up, my ankle is feeling a bit better. More importantly, I was able to get out of bed and limp to the bathroom unassisted. I had a look under the bandage, and there's no bruising, so I'm pretty sure there's no break (or if there is, it's hairline). So I'll skip the X-ray. Neil was lovely and offered to go to work late so he could drive me to hospital, but now he won't have to.
He also did far too many dishes (I felt really guilty, since I was the one who dirtied them) and made the mashed potatoes for dinner. That was fun. He knew the basic procedure for doing it, but had no idea of quantities of butter and milk. I never measure, and demands for more precision than "a lump of butter" were made. They came out fine though. :-) Pie was delicious. Go me. And there's quite a bit left over. Lunch today! ;-)
Today will be spent resting my ankle, since I think traipsing around on it yesterday did it no favors. Perhaps I will watch one of my Christmas DVDs.
