I went out shopping today. As well as some Christmas stuff, I went and bought cheese at Neal's Yard. I was amused when after I bought a chunk of blue cheese (recommended by the staff) I saw that it was made near Totnes. :-) I also got Montgomery cheddar and a crumbly goat's cheese. Neil's family all like cheese, so I hope it goes down well! I then got Neil a piece of birthday cheesecake from Konditor & Cook next door.

Afterwards, I needed to go back to TCR. As I was walking towards London Bridge, I thought it would just be easier to walk to Bank than to get the Tube or bus. I was half right. Monument station was a short walk. However, getting to the Central Line when you enter at Monument is possibly the worst change on the Underground (rivalling the Northern Line to the Circle at Kings Cross). I didn't know this before, but I do now!

I am also annoyed at Paperchase, because they don't have any reels of wide ribbon. They have strips of it, at stupid prices (£2 for 2m), and reels of narrow curling ribbon, but not reels of wide ribbon. I remember that last year WH Smith didn't have anything I really liked either. I've got gold wrapping paper, and ideally I'd like purple ribbon, but would take another color. Last year I only found gold, which was a bit boring (even though I had purple and gold gift tags). As I don't really celebrate Christmas, I try to avoid Christmas colors, and I think purple and gold looks festive without being too specifically Christmassy. This was at the big Paperchase on Tottenham Court Road, too, so there's no use telling me to try a bigger one :(

Due to overall household incompetence, cards have not been purchased. So if you're wondering why you didn't get one from us, don't worry, it wasn't personal. We ignored everyone else too. :-)
