Went to the BBC Good Food Show at Earls Court. Got a large pandoro (prefer it to panettone: no dried fruit ;) ) Very good brand (Tre Marie) and supposedly half the price of Selfridges. And I can always turn it into pudding ;)
One of the online US grocery places also had a booth. I actually bought Mott's Apple Sauce... well, it goes with latkes. Only problem was that they only had the original in the mini-cup 6 packs. The jarred stuff was the Natural (yes, I know it's unsweetened and therefore healthier, but I grew up on the Original, so it's what tastes "right"). I know it's silly as I could make it from scratch if I couldn't find a brand I liked here, but I don't use it in big enough quantities to make it worthwhile.
Still no plumber, BTW. I was moaning about this elsewhere and someone sent me a recommendation. I shall try them tomorrow. I'm tempted to stop the cheque I wrote on Thursday, though I know that doing that without saying anything would probably get me in trouble. They did show up, even if they didn't do £270 worth of work.
