After a few minor detours *cough* I made it to the vet's in Williston Park, 15 minutes late. Which meant I had to wait longer, since of course they'd taken someone else in the meantime...
Anyway, problem. My vet forgot to write down the date Zoe was chipped. Under PETS regulations, the shot must be given after microchipping. Without a date for chipping, the certifying vet has no idea if the process was done in sequence.
So tomorrow, I have to go to my vet and get Zoe's full medical record, which should have the date on it. Then I have to go back to the other vet... except on Monday and Tuesday he's in Park Slope, Brooklyn. So I have to drive out there. I wanted to go to the greenmarket in Union Square anyway, but I also wanted to go to MoMA as it's just reopened, and I probably won't have time now :-( (they're closed on Tuesday so that's not an option). Then at some point before flying I need to go to a federal vet (there's one in the Rockaways somewhere, I have to get the address) to get the certificate stamped, and Zoe needs to go back to the vet next Sunday for her tick and tapeworm. I've just paid $300 for the lot so she's going through it :-)
Thank God Grandma's retired and I can hog her car all day ;) (though if she needs a car, she can use Mom's, Mom can drive Jen's, and someone can drop Jen at the station. It's a bit complicated as I can't drive Mom's car into the city [it's a leased Mercedes], and won't drive Jen's as it's an SUV. Grandma won't drive Jen's either. So it's car shuffle time!)
I also need to find time to go to the gynecologist as I need something taken care of (and it hurts, so I don't want to wait to go back to the UK, even though it will be free).
I still need to buy Zoe an IATA-approved carrier. And comb her tangles; they're really bad. I can't do it now because Rob's here and he's allergic to cat fluff.
