I'm writing our thank you notes.

Instead of just writing out the addresses, I've produced labels using Mail Merge. (Sorry, excuse me, it's "Data Merge" now.)

(OK, it started because we didn't get our address preprinted on the envelopes, and I couldn't bear the thought of writing our address 50 times.)

I've realized that I'm becoming far too domestic for a 27 year old. I got excited by the purchase of a household appliance, for goodness' sake. Today I nearly crossed a line I vowed I would never cross--I almost ironed one of Neil's shirts. (Before we got married, I told him that I would cook, I would do my share of dishes and cleaning, but the one thing I would not do was his ironing.) What stopped me was falling asleep. Worse, I now feel slightly guilty for not doing it: he will be going to work with an unironed shirt tomorrow. It's partly his fault; he should have planned in advance.

I'm slightly frightened of what will happen when we move. :-) We haven't put this place up for sale yet, but we will in the next couple of months. G-d only knows what I will turn into when I have a larger place I can make my own...

They whipped Boston in the first 3 games, then dropped 4 in a row!! It's the first time in baseball history that a team has come back from a 3 game deficit. Worse, it was to the Red Sox!!! If you want some idea of the emnity between the teams, the Boston Globe web site was referring to the Yankees as "the Evil Empire down south".

Just as importantly, I got up and watched the fucking game. Evil fucking Yankees.

Did chicken curry tonight (fairly generic murgh masala with spices, tomatoes, and a bit of yoghurt). I was cautious with the chiles because they were birds'-eye (i.e. very hot). Put 3 chopped ones in. Tasted it a few minutes later. Too mild. Added 2 more and figured that should do it. It didn't. Next time I really need to remember the cayenne as well as using fresh chiles I think. I realized after I got home that I didn't have any. D'oh!

Plenty of ginger and garlic, needed more onion, needed something else as well but not quite sure what. Lacked zing somehow. And yes, I used fresh spices. Oh, and the recipe I was (loosely) following called for too much water; I would've liked a thicker sauce.
