We headed out to John Lewis to do the gift list (I convinced Neil to be lazy and park at East Finchley rather than deal with the crappy replacement bus service). We blitzed through the place--when we returned the scanner after an hour the guy was amazed at how much we'd done in so short a time :-) Picked quite a nice range of stuff, though we were annoyed that they didn't have the Dyson DC08 on display :-(

Came home and I made roast duck. I did the proper Mastering the Art of French Cooking sauce too, which involves making stock from the giblets for the sauce. I also made Neil pit the cherries. It was very nice, but I dread cleaning the kitchen...
