I had to meet Neil at Angel at 12:30. He rang at 12:00, just as I was getting dressed. I think he thought I was asleep--he'd sent both a text and an e-mail (directions to the pub he was going to) and I hadn't responded. Probably because I had been asleep and hadn't checked my e-mail immediately upon waking up. ;-)
Took 10 minutes to get a train at Woodside Park. The next 3 trains were all listed on the board as Morden via Charing Cross, so I thought "fuck it, I'll change at Camden". It was a nice surprise when I got on the train and the announcement said Morden via Bank. I didn't have a book or the paper though so the trip dragged. You can't get a paper at or near Woodside Park (all the shops are on the High Road, in the opposite direction from our flat) which sucks.
Went to Borough Market afterwards. This was fun but crowded. It was still depressing to see French beans from Kenya though! I did get some stuff that looked good, including sausages for Neil. Yes, pork sausages. I ain't cooking them, but he can have them. :-)
I've got a list of the proper farmers' markets, which I love, so I'll try some of them. Of course there aren't any in North London(*)--seems there used to be one at Whetstone but not anymore. :-( Mind you I used to go to Union Square sometimes, which wasn't very convenient, but the stuff was good enough to make it worthwhile. Mmmm, piles of vegetables that still had dirt on them!
Came home, had a nap. Cold's improving but still not gone.
(*)--OK, there's one at Islington, but that's nearly central London :)
