I woke up this morning to discover that my right eye was crusted shut. Looked in the mirror and yep, it was pink. :-(
So after Neil and I went to Barnet registry office, I popped along to the walk-in centre at Edgware hospital, just up the road. I figured that even if Neil's GP would see me it wouldn't be for hours anyway. It took 2 hours. Grrr. What was really silly was that in the time they used for triage they could've looked at my eye and given me the stuff. Anyway, the nurse was very nice in the end, looked at my eye, did a stain to check for scratches, confirmed I had conjunctivitis, and handed me some drops.
For a bonus, I forgot my oystercard so I had to pay for the bus home.
So, now I have lurgy, pinkeye and PMT (been having nasty cramps). I got ice cream in Waitrose on the way home. I think I deserve it :-P
Actually I wanted fruit but none of it really appealed. Ended up with tinned peaches. That may sound silly when fresh ones are in season but I've had too many bad experiences with unripe fruit, especially stone fruit. All "home ripening" does is make it softer; if it hasn't developed sweetness on the tree it won't get it now. At least the tinned kind is sweet.
