The plan for today was to go to John Lewis on Oxford Street and select the gifts for the wedding list.
Neil phoned up to make sure it would be OK and was told that the sales had just started and it would be best to wait until they had ended, as it was very busy and we couldn't add sale stuff to the list anyway. This would also mean their new season's stock would be in.
Unfortunately we needed to go to JL anyway (electric toothbrush and large bath towels). I figured it would be easier to drive to Brent Cross than get the tube to Oxford Street. I was right, but what I didn't figure on was that ALL the stores had started their sales. Brent Cross was a zoo. I'm a child of malls, but it was really bad. Thank God we knew what we wanted and got out of there fairly quickly.
We came back via Waitrose, and partly out of guilt I got the makings of a roast beef dinner for tomorrow. Bone-in prime rib no less. Quelle extravagance!
