tabby cat
You are a tabby cat. The total home-body. You'd be
content just to stay at home all day and not
get up from the couch. You lazy sloth! Try and
make a movement every now and then, or someone
might decide to bury you in the back yard!

What color of cat are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

(ooh, and the photo looks like Zoe)

Lunar House (the Immigration and Nationality Directorate office in Croydon) is moving to an appointment system! So Neil doesn't have to drive me there at 6am to ensure I get seen. I'll call in July to find out when I can make an appointment, but this is potentially very good.

(dang. Just mentioned it to Neil and said "this is great, I can just get the tube to Kings X and Thameslink to East Croydon, then walk or get the bus" and he said "They're going to rebuild Kings X Thameslink and there may be no central London Thameslink service". Which might make it a pain, unless I can go from London Bridge--but I'll worry in October I suppose! Just my transport geekiness coming through. No matter, as driving from North Finchley to Croydon would probably be a nightmare...)

There was a big batch of sauce in the freezer. I took it out this morning, intending to use it for dinner. A while ago, I decided to speed up the defrosting by dumping it into a pan and putting it on the stove. Which I did. Broke it up into chunks and set it on low.

I just smelled something burning and went upstairs to check. The sauce was boiling and had stuck to the bottom and burnt--and I mean _burnt_.
Major layer of charcoal (and this was a nice heavy pan). Poured the sauce off the top, but I'm 99% sure that the charcoal smell has permeated it and it's no good. :-(

You are allowed to comment on my familial soap opera, tactless as it may seem...

Of course that assumed you're reading all this nonsense. I'm never sure of that.

[Edit: Ooops, now I've made people feel guilty. :-) Wasn't the intent. You know (maybe) how it is though: you're not sure if people aren't commenting because it's personal and they don't know what to say, or if they've just averted their eyes from the car wreck. And I've been having a shitty day.]
