I should've gone to the supermarket when I first woke up at 08:00. Instead, I waited until after 12:00. This was not a good idea. Since it's Memorial Day weekend (aka Start of Summer) the supermarket, especially the deli counter, was a zoo. I went to get my number as soon as I got in: 04. They were on 70. :/ (It goes to 00 after 99.)
I discovered (thanks to the guy bagging my groceries) that Coke has discontinued 2L bottles. There are still some floating around convenience stores, but supermarkets are out. He was pissed about it too--it's an excuse for a price rise. It may flop though, because Pepsi is still doing 2L bottles and selling them for the same price as Coke's 1.5L ;-)
Got home, unpacked, had yet another screaming fight with Carly. First she was pissed because she'd just cleaned it was getting "messed up" (i.e. people were walking on just vacuumed carpet and sitting on the sofa). Then she got annoyed because I bought the "wrong" margarine. The other day, she admitted that fat free margarine is nasty and asked to go back to regular light margarine. She didn't say which kind, though. She claims that she told me stick so it can be used for cooking (though I'm still not sure if 37% margarine can be used for cooking) but I don't remember her doing that. Anyway, I assumed she wanted tub margarine for spreading, so that's what I bought. Apparently not. Then she screamed about how I screw up the shopping. I pointed out that she doesn't want to go with me. I like doing the shopping (just as I like doing the cooking) so I'm not going to send her off to do it :-) (Though I am considering taking her up on her "threat": give her part of the money and let her buy some of the stuff. Then she'll discover it's a pain (I don't eat deli, so she can stand on line) and not cheap either. New York State has just raised the price threshold on milk to $4.43/gal (in New York, the state sets a price on milk every month, and at least one brand per store must be sold at or below threshold price.)
Ended up having a 6 hour nap. Ooops. And no dinner. Rummaged in the fridge before The Simpsons.
