I sorted out Zoe's rabies test. This was a pretty involved procedure. I can't remember if I explained this before, but for export to a rabies-free area, immunity to rabies has to be confirmed by blood test. The UK requires that it be done by FAVN. Only 1 lab in the USA does it, at Kansas State University. (OK, there's a 2nd, but it's only open to US military personnel.) To their credit, the lab is very helpful and has all the paperwork on their webpage. However, my vet had never done this before, so I had to drive over there yesterday and give him the forms to look at, then come back today and have the test done.

(One annoying thing: The FAVN submission form asks that information be typed. However, it's put on the web as a fucking PDF! The only way to type things in would be to use a typewriter, and who has one these days? The vet just printed in block caps. It's readable.)

Also made some pots de creme au chocolat. I think the recipe's screwed: says 250F for 35-40 minutes. After 40 minutes they were still liquid. Most custards in a water bath go at 300-325. I've raised the temperature. We'll see if they turn out :-)
