Good news: I only have 2 cavities. I think one might have been one he found at my last check-up. I never had the work finished on the right side of my mouth because my mother was pissed at the dentist (he did a root canal without asking first). I've been able to feel a cavity there for a long time, so it probably showed up on the X-ray last year. So, really, only 1 new cavity. :-) that's progress! It may seem like I've had some dental disasters in the past year or so, but they weren't because of new decay--one was because I didn't get a crown put on soon enough after a root canal, and the other was a failed root canal. Nothing I could've done about that.
Bad news: One of them (the old one) is rather large, and in a tooth that already has a massive filling in it. There's simply not enough tooth to support another filling. So I need a crown. :-(
