I wanted to try to stay up all day yesterday then go to bed after ER. I had a nap anyway. D'oh. Went to bed after ER, woke up at 04:00, had no end of trouble falling back asleep. Managed to fall asleep again around 06:30 (amazing: I can almost never fall asleep when my mother and grandmother are in the living room talking). Woke up around noon and went grocery shopping. Came home, unpacked, ended up taking the vegetable bins out of the fridge and cleaning them properly.
Bright spot of the day: my grandma made dinner--chicken fricassee. (No resemblance to the French dish of that name; I have no idea where the name came from. It's stewed chicken wings [plus neck, gizzard, and feet, but you don't actually eat those] and meatballs, with garlic, onion, and paprika, served over boiled rice.) I'll have heartburn all night from the schmaltz, but yum.
Speaking of digestive troubles, I got a cabbage. Shall I do stuffed cabbage, or cabbage and noodles? :-)
Oh, and I called Maytag yesterday. The part is on back-order, which means they have to find it from a warehouse somewhere else in the country, and they won't get it in till next week. Grrrrr!! I WANT MY OVEN!
