The flight was mildly crap. We were delayed leaving JFK, then circled over most of London before landing at Heathrow. On the plus side, there were 2 empty seats in front of me (it was a 777; the seats are 3-3-3) so I moved up a row and got to have an extra seat between me and the next person. I used it for my junk ;-) When we got to Heathrow, there was no jetway, we had to wait for stairs, and then coaches to the terminal were delayed. Passport control was easy, but baggage was delayed. I finally got out at noon!
We didn't do much in the afternoon as I was knackered (I got about 2 hours sleep on the flight). I did get some cuddles though ;-) In the evening, it was Neil's birthday curry out in Docklands, which was fun--it was wonderful to see everyone, though it was a shame that I didn't get to talk to a a few people as I was sat at the opposite end of the table to them in both the pub and the restaurant. Ah well!
I slept OK, though the time change meant I woke up several times in the middle of the night. The other thing that got me was that when we went out today, a little after noon, the light totally threw me off. It was sunny today. and the sun was much lower in the sky than I'm used to at that time of day--it felt more like 3pm back home. I've never been this far north in the winter before so I wasn't used to it.
