It depends. I like to shop for certain things, like books.

This week's Economist.

3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
Again, depends. Online wins for convenience, real stores let me feel the merchandise.

4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
Not regularly.

5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
That keyboard the other day :-)

Muffler is fixed. I can now drive down the block without waking the neighbors.

Let's all just hope the transmission keeps working--I can't afford to replace that! (Wouldn't be worth it, really.)

Abby's got arthritis in her hip (a common problem in older golden retrievers) and it's really been acting up this week--I think it's the weather. It makes it hard for her to get up and down stairs, and this is NOT a good house if you have trouble with stairs. Our house is a split-level--6 steps from the foyer to the living room/kitchen level, then 6 steps down to the den and garage or 6 up to the bedrooms. Plus if she goes outside from the kitchen (the family room door is stuck) she has to go down the 6 steps from the deck. So she's got to go up and down all day :-(

I'm going to call the vet tomorrow to see if there's anything he can give her--he gave her painkillers when she twisted her leg a few months back (it's been bothering her on and off since then, and he said it's from the arthritis).
