Ho hum.

Got to the pharmacy just as it was closing yesterday (not my fault!) so missed my pills yesterday and slept late today. Did some laundry, baked a loaf of bread (whole wheat), made an appointment at the vet for Abby. Currently very bored, and out of reading material :(

I had a doctor's appointment today at 13:00. Or I thought I did.

A little after 12pm, the phone rang. It was the doctor's office, informing me that I'd had an 11:45 appointment and where was I?

Luckily, they've squeezed me in for Thursday.

So, I downloaded it tonight and had a try--bought a couple of songs. I'm the RIAA's perfect market, now that my ISP seems to have blocked file sharing. (I know some people on Optimum Online who say they still can, but Kazaa and Gnutella don't connect for me, on either PC...)

Plus points:
- Really easy to use. Point, click, buy, play. You can do 1-Click or a shopping cart for your songs (signing in gives your credit card details).
- $0.99 may not be free, but I reckon it's a fair price for one song--especially since it's near instant gratification

Minus points:
- iTunes only works on Win2K/XP
- I can't work out if there's a way to play the files using any other players (e.g. so I could integrate things into Winamp, or play them upstairs)
- The iTunes hermetically sealed bubble environment is great for the clueless, but annoying for the picky
- iTunes has a good selection, but it's far from complete
- $0.99 may be a decent deal, but the RIAA's paranoia means I still can't do what I want with the songs, the way I can if I buy the CD (which I wouldn't always want to do even if I had the money--sometimes you just like one song)
