Evanescence song: STOP OVERPLAYING IT!! I heard it 3 times (on different stations) on my way home from the supermarket Friday, and twice on the 10-minute trip to the bank that afternoon.
Liz Phair single: Not a bad song, but pretty bland. Sounds just like every other pop-rock song on the radio, and it's no wonder why: she worked with the Matrix (songwriters who did some of Avril Lavigne's tracks, including, I think, "Complicated"). She's even said she did it just to get airplay and sell records. If a more pop record had simply been an artistic move, I'd have no problem with it. I like a good pop tune. But not only is this crassly commercial, it's not very good music. The Matrix are very good at writing hit singles, because they know what gets airplay, but it's not very original or exciting.
Jewel single: I don't hate it as much as I did on the first few listens, and the video is quite clever with the way it manipulates her image. I'm not sure the dance/electronic style really suits Jewel, though. Again, I have no problem with artistic development, but I don't think this works.
Jason Mraz single ("The Remedy"). Whenever I hear this on the radio, I think my mobile's ringing (even though my mobile's ringtone is actually "Take on Me").
