And it's my fault :-(
I had to run to Dairy Barn (drive through convenience store) earlier and thought I'd take Abby with me for the ride--she loves the car.
We went outside, and I opened the rear door on the driver's side for her to get in. She went to jump up, slipped, and didn't make it. This happens sometimes, now that she's older, and I didn't really think twice of it. So I patted the seat and told her to go again. She started to jump up, then stopped. Try again--she wouldn't go at all. I figured she got scared and won't try. I remembered that my car is parked right against the curb, so if I opened the door on that side, she could climb right up--the seat won't be nearly as high. We went around, I opened the door, and she won't try. She sat on the sidewalk and wouldn't move. I thought she was being willful, and said "Abby!" but she wouldn't move. After a couple of minutes I decided to just leave her home. When we got inside and into the light, I saw she was limping. She had a very hard time getting up the stairs.
It's 5 hours later, and she still can't walk properly :/ It's not an emergency; she's alert and responsive, her breathing is fine, etc. But I think I'll have to take her to the vet tomorrow. Hopefully Carly will be able to help me get her into the car. There's no way I can lift an 85-lb dog by myself.
