I demand an improvement!
We've had about 2 days of sun all month. This won't do. This is New York, not the north of England. I know that our climate is far from ideal, but I've always liked that Long Island is the sunniest and the second rainiest (just behind the Catskills) place in the state. This means that it's usually either sunny or raining. This month, however, it's been either grey or raining and the temperature has stayed solidly in the 50s F, with few exceptions.
Right now it's Memorial Day weekend. On Long Island, this means the unofficial start of summer. You have a BBQ, you go to the beach (and scream in agony when you dare to put your toes in the still-frigid ocean). Unfortunately, this is difficult when it's 52°F and grey with occasional drizzle.
I'd like a brief moment of spring before summer hits. Unless you're planning a washout summer too, and you'd BETTER NOT! Not when I finally have a car and can go to the beach whenever the mood hits :)
